Vehicles in German Town Discovered Smeared with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police reported they were contacted by a man who noticed a automobile in Hanau covered with reddish fluid

Approximately 50 cars have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they stated in a statement.

Law enforcement report they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored fluid.

The liquid had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.

Police then discovered multiple other smeared vehicles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.

Officials report early analysis indicate the liquid was probably human blood.

"Currently there is no indication as to its origin; authorities are currently not informed of any injuries in connection with the event," they added.

City officials announced they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have requested to the residents for information.

A senior political figure said the vandalism left him without words and required to be addressed promptly.

"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist violent incident five years ago," he posted on social media, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a assailant targeting individuals of migrant background in 2020.
